Why separable Shielded Antenna?
MALÅ Separable Shielded Antennas offer the ability to separate transmitter antenna from receiver antenna. It is a feature which enables a user to study material parameters or perform special surveys, such as tomographic surveys.
These antennas also lend themselves to optimize the antenna separation and vary polarization patterns in order to better distinguish/characterize targets. Furthermore, a user may freely configure a multi-channel/multi-frequency array-type of system.
Application
The MALÅ Separable Shielded Antennas are operated by the MALÅ ProEx Control Unit and its coaxial module. These robust antennas are use in all applications that requires a variation of polarization and Rx-Tx distance.
Tomographic studies and velocity estimations through different Rx-Tx set-ups such as CMP, common mid point, are measurements modes where these antennas have proved to be successful.
Primarily these antennas are used in our MALÅ MIRA Solution, but they can also be used for other fixed installations for e.g. material monitoring and as movement detectors.

Infrastructure
Infrastructure is the largest general application area for GPR. The technique is widely used in urban environments, both for planning and maintenance of all kinds of infrastructure. Common applications include Utility locating and mapping, Road profiling, Bridge assessment, Bedrock detection, Cultural Heritage mapping, Sinkhole detection, Tunnel investigations, Pre-road and utility planning, Concrete investigations, River/lake bottom analysis etc.
Geological
Geological applications are usually both longer and deeper (lower frequency antennas) surveys and sometimes performed in boreholes. Work includes, Layer detection, Rock fracture analysis, general and more detailed Site investigations, Pre-mining studies, Exploration work, Bathymetry, Earthquake prediction, Landslide investigations, Volume estimations, Ore lineage mapping, Nuclear waste repository studies, Tunnelling work, etc.
Environmental
Environmental applications are varied but usually includes working to avoid or neutralize hazardous obstacles or locales.
