Designed to restore joint integrity The Internal Joint Seal is made from a premium quality rubber compound and stainless-steel bands which are designed to withstand the corrosive environment in sanitary sewers. It is available in the widths 7.5” (190 mm), 10.5” (267 mm) and provides and extension.
Principle of Operation
The compressive force providing the seal on either side of the joints is the result of increasing the effective diameter of the stainless steel expansion bands. The diameters of the expansion bands are increased by tightening the bolts on the WedgeLock Assemblies. This forces the corresponding wedges, which are attached to the expansion bands, away from each other increasing the expansion band diameter.
Function and Design
The Internal Joint Seal prevents infiltration by bridging the joint with a flexible rubber seal and compressing the rubber seal against the inside diameter of the pipe or manhole on either side of the joint with the WedgeLock expansion bands.
Application
- Designed to restore joint integrity
- Can be used in concrete, HDPE and most other types of pipe
- Installs easily with torque wrench and socket
